Course Objectives
- The post graduate nurse is prepared to develop leadership skills and function effectively as an educator, administrator, manager, and researcher.
- The graduate nurse is prepared to function as a professional nurse in hospitals, community health, or nursing schools.
Eligibility Criteria
B. SC (N)
Age limit for admission:Â A candidate should have completed 17 years & should not be more than 35 years as of 31st December of the year of admission.
N.B.: The upper age limit shall be relaxed by 3 years in the case of SC and ST candidates.
Sex:Â Should be female or male
Educational Qualification:
- Should have passed the Intermediate Examination with biology, physics, and chemistry as optional subjects or the Intermediate Vocational (Nursing) examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Examination, Telangana, or any examination recognized as equivalent with science subjects.
- Should have secured not less than 45% of marks in the optional part of the Intermediate Examination or equivalent examination. In the case of SC/ST candidate, it shall be not less than 40% of marks.
Duration of the Course:Â 4 years.
Medium of Instruction and Examination: English shall be the medium of instruction and examination.
Working Days in the Academic Year: The academic year shall consist of not less than 220 working days, excluding vacation, university examination, and public holidays.
Post Basic B. SC (N)
Age limit for admission:Â A candidate should have completed 21 years & should not be more than 45 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
N.B.: The upper age limit shall be relaxed by 3 years in the case of SC and ST candidates.
Sex:Â Should be female
Educational Qualification:
Should have passed GNM from any institution recognized by INC and shall be a registered nurse from the state nursing council.
Two years of service as a staff nurse in any institution as of or before the admission after registration with the state nursing council.
Duration of the Course:Â 2 years.
Medium of Instruction and Examination:Â English shall be the medium of instruction and examination.
Working Days in the Academic Year: The academic year shall consist of not less than 220 working days, excluding vacation, university examination, and public holidays.
M. SC (N)
Age limit for admission:Â A candidate should not have completed 45 years as of 31st December of the year of admission.
N.B.:Â Age limit shall be relaxed by 3 years in case of SC and ST candidates.
Sex:Â Should be female
Educational Qualification:
- Should have passed the B.Sc. (N) examination from any recognized university.
- Should have secured not less than 55% of marks in the B.Sc. (N) Examination or equivalent examination. In the case of the SC/ST candidate, it shall be not less than 50% of marks.
Duration of the Course: 2 Years
Medium of Instruction and Examination:Â English shall be the medium of instruction and examination.
